Well, Roger happened to scan the NICS Firearm Check database last week. To those who don’t know what this is, it’s a database that shows the number of background checks for guns all the way back to 1998… and it’s public!
Let’s just say we liked what we saw…
The numbers are nothing short of alarming. In the U.S., 40 million Americans got background checks in 2020. To give you a little bit of a perspective, the average number of background checks for each of the three preceding years were roughly 24 million to 25 million.
And it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down either.
The number of people who want to get guns is skyrocketing. Roger just finished reviewing the quarter, and already we’ve seen roughly 12.5 million people apply for the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). And if the trend continues, we’re going to end the year with close to 50 million Americans.
We’re already seeing a few names profiting from this trend. So today we’re giving you our favorite rising firearm stocks…
2 Rising Firearm Stocks To Get In on Now
The first rising firearm stock on our list is Ammo Munitions Inc. (Nasdaq: POWW). What an original name, right?!
Ammo designs, develops, manufactures, markets and sells ammunition and ammunition-related component products.
The one-year return on the stock is 337-plus percent. And given the increase in gun sales lately, it makes perfect sense that there’s also an increase in demand for ammo. We mean, you can’t use one without the other.
Ammo technically took a pause in the trend, but it’s now crossing its 50-day moving average and we see a price target of about $9 per share over the next six to seven weeks, assuming momentum levels persist.
